China will continue to defend resolutely its own national interests, and meanwhile, continue to advance cooperation with the vast American business community.
Is Washington willing to risk a military conflict with China rather than accept the reality that the days of American hegemony are coming to an end?
Once a champion of globalization and free markets, Washington now instead aims to reverse globalization because it deems it no longer to be in its interest.
Putting aside political factors, business is business and Boeing needs to gear up and improve its safety culture as soon as possible; otherwise nothing will get off the ground.
The reality is these visits antagonize U.S.-China relations and cross-Strait relations.
The only rational policy is for Washington to stop its destabilizing and counterproductive policy of confrontation and to start a constructive policy of reengagement and cooperation with Beijing.
Washington needs to make a change to its China policy if it wants to achieve a stable and sound China-US relationship.
The relationship between the two nations remains stuck in neutral, and there is no reason to believe the U.S. is prepared to go from neutral to drive.
China does not present a threat or challenge to NATO; it does not see itself as a competitor and does not seek to build any kind of alliance bloc.
Looking ahead, China and the U.S. need to re-embrace the conviction that helped the two sides break the ice 50 years ago and set out on a new journey, guided by the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation.
If the Biden administration is determined to play the Taiwan game, China will have no choice but to take off the gloves.
