Under the leadership of the CPC, China has inspired the developing world with its success in building an advanced economy in only a generation.
In the last several decades, China’s pace has quickened in its age-long journey to provide peace, harmony, and prosperity to its citizens. It is a record to be proud of, and in the 21st century to come we hope that China continues its peaceful advance.
Understanding what China and the CPC have experienced during the past 100 years is crucial to comprehending both China and the world’s future on everything from the world economy to the climate crisis to international relations.
Its greatest strength comes from its people. The people will never let the Party down.
The CPC celebrates its 100th anniversary thanks to its capacity for resilience and patience in learning not only from its successes and failures but also from the world.
These record-breaking achievements in human history has greatly improved the quality of Chinese people’s life, showing other countries, especially in the developing world, that poverty can indeed be eradicated.
While the Chinese model might not be suitable for our 330 million Americans, it does suit the vast majority of China’s 1.4 billion citizens as evidenced by independent public opinion polling, both long term and focused on the global pandemic still ongoing in much of the rest of the world.
While the decisions are still out as to whether the U.S. and China will find a working relationship that benefits mankind, the accomplishments of the CPC stand on their own, and are worthy of great celebration during this 100th anniversary year of the CPC, not only in China, but in the rest of the world as well.
These economic and social achievements since the creation of the People’s Republic of China in 1949 are by now so great that it is widely acknowledged internationally that China has changed the world situation.
China is certainly complex, but understanding some of its key achievements, and key challenges, is essential if we are to make progress on the questions ahead of us.
Having weathered past contradictions, errors, and suffering, the country has found its Way, or Tao, by drawing on experience, ancient traditions, and philosophy.
